Laine is 14 years old and originally from the State of New Jersey in the United States. She has been singing and dancing since she was four years old. In her first on stage performance at the age of six, it was clear that she had a gift for performing and the arts. She is an all around musician (piano, guitar and voice), dancer, gymnast, and actor.
She has starred in leading roles in numerous musicals over the years (Kira in Xanadu, King Louie in Jungle Book, Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof) as well as performing with Julie Klausner in an adaptation of Jesus Christ Superstar. You can also see her in commercials, including a viral campaign for the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S4 phone in 2013.
Laine has now focused her professional career on her first love….songwriting and performing. At the age of 11 she wrote and recorded her first single “Let’s Take It High" followed a few months later by the heartfelt song "Half of Me", which captured Laine's profound emotions of leaving her friends and memories when she moved with her family to Switzerland in 2015 for two years.
Laine released her namesake debut album “Laine” at the age of 12. The album features four new original songs that she wrote while in Switzerland. Her songs are truly inspirational and show the inner soul of a girl who is becoming a young woman, facing the challenges and anticipation of growing up. The tracks openly capture her feelings ranging from the musical imagery of being showered by love in “Rainfall” to the coming-of-age anthem “Independent Generation.”
In 2016 Laine released her second album, “For You,” which features her new upbeat dance song “Why You Gotta Be Like That” and the inspirational ballad “Take Me Home.” The tender song “Slip Away,” which was written for one of Laine’s friends who moved away, showcases her deep passion for her friends and relationships, which she highly values not just in song, but in real life.
Laine also released her first Christmas song “It Don’t Feel Like Christmas” earlier the same year. This song will have you smiling from ear to ear as you rekindle those special memories of family, fun and friends during the holidays.
In early 2017 Laine released an "Unplugged" album, featuring some of her favorite cover songs ranging from a few classics to current pop. And, in November 2017, Laine released her newest original album “Disguise".
Laine is both thankful and grateful for the support of her family and the tremendous coaches and collaborative partners she works with throughout every aspect of her career, including Stephanie Salzman, Matt Anthony, Stefan Haselhoff, Willem Oosthuysen, Janine Molinari, Trapper Felides, Thommie Retter and Amy Ward-Wurst.
Laine lived abroad in Switzerland for the last two years where she was inspired by the beauty of her experiences living and traveling abroad. She recently returned to the USA and currently lives in New Jersey with her brother and parents. She continues to write, record and film new videos…so stay tuned and check back regularly.
